Welcome to Wix

About us

Wix Primary School has served its local community since it was built in 1902. The Wix building is itself is of historic interest because of its interesting design, a fact we are all proud of.

The school has undergone many changes in its long history, as has the community it serves, but its fundamental aim remains the same:

To provide the best education possible in a supportive and happy environment.

We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum through which every child’s potential can be developed. We believe that every child at Wix has the right to be taught equally whatever their gender, ethnicity, age, culture or religion. We are a fully maintained state school, with our admissions policy regulated by the London Borough of Wandsworth.

Nous parlons Français

Uniquely we share our building with a French primary school, Ecole de Wix. This has given us the opportunity to develop languages at the school. From September 2005, all the children at Wix Primary School started to learn French. In addition, from September 2006 we started a bilingual reception class in which the children will be taught half their time in French and half in English, the first state school in England to do so. Interested? find out more...

Information Technology

We place great emphasis also on the teaching of Information Technology every class room now has the very latest interactive whiteboard and we have a 30 place specialist computer room, backed up by a wide range of software titles allowing us to cater for all needs.

Staying in touch

This website is an introduction to Wix, and a way for us to stay in touch with parents and pupils on a day-to-day basis.
